If you have an Institution account on SportFin, you have the ability to add custom data to your map visualisation. This means you can overlay open government data onto your map and create powerful visualisations.

Adding a Custom Layer

To add a custom layer to your map, follow these simple steps:

  • Log into your SportFin account and go to you Institution Account.

  • Under 'Custom map layer', click the '+' button.

  • Name your Layer and upload a .csv file with at least the following data:

    • A column with UK Postcodes you want to visualise (this must be a UK postcode)

    • And a column with the data you want to visualise (this must be numeric data)

  • Select the 'Postcode' and 'Data' columns.

  • Click on 'Upload' to create your custom layer and then click on 'View Layer' to open your visualisation.

And that's it! Your custom data will now be visualised on your SportFin map, and you can overlay this data with all of our open government data sets.

Thank you for using SportFin. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our support team.
